T&I - learn English in South Africa

LEARN ENGLISH IN SOUTH AFRICA

T&I host groups of students and organise their stay in South Africa.  We arrange accommodation, food, transport, daily English tuition and recreational activities.  The English program is a 7 or 14 days crash course, with students receiving 3 hours of English instruction each morning.

The students will develop in the required learning language whilst enjoying a true South African experience.

TEACHING PROGRAM

An initial assessment indicates students' individual strengths and weaknesses and suggests which areas of grammar need revision.  All materials used are chosen or adapted with teenage or adult learners in mind, and the course revolves around extensive media material.  Although there is a focus on encouraging students to communicate orally in English, it is important that they receive grounding in those grammatical areas that the initial assessment shows to be problematic.  Also, listening activities assist the students in their interaction with native English speakers, and practice in writing helps prepare them for the Cambridge examination.  Thus, each lesson incorporates both receptive (listening and reading) and productive (speaking and writing) skills.  Afternoon activities are designed to reinforce the grammar points and functional language and vocabulary learned in the classroom.  Homework offers further consolidation as well as allowing teachers to evaluate the students' progress on an ongoing basis.
